STATENWEG 16D
For a apartment in the Blijdorp area of Rotterdam (The Netherlands) a small top-up had been requested. With limitation put on the size of the top-up by the municipality we needed to make the design as effective as possible, combining a bedroom, study and roof terrace into a small plot.
The main features of the design are the orientation towards the magnificent skyline of Rotterdam, being fully open to this side. With the window frames being operable to be open for twothirds on the south creating a beatuful relation between the interior and the exterior which is further enhanced by the continuation of the materials used in both cases.
The fully adaptable venetian blinds create effective sunshading and keep cooling to a minimum as well as keep the view from the interior in full effect.
The exterior space is defined by the green roof, terrace, jacuzzy and detailed railing.
